NHRCT VISITED RESIDENCE AROUND DIN DAENG DISTRICT TO GATHER INFORMATION FOR INVESTIGATION AND COORDINATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS PROTECTION IN THE CASE OF POLITICAL RALLIES

            On September 13, B.E. 2564 [2021] at 4:30 p.m., the National Human Rights Commission of Thailand (NHRCT) by Mrs. Preeda Kongpaen, Assistant Professor Suchart Setthamalinee and Miss Sayamol Kaiyoorawong (Commissioners) with Mr. Chanintr Ketupratch (Director of Human Rights Protection Standards and Follow-up Bureau, acting Deputy Secretary-General of the National Human Rights Commission) and competent authorities visited the residence around Din Daeng district to listen to and gather facts from different affected groups in the residential neighborhood, protesters as well as the press who clung to the situation; gather information for investigation of human rights violation and coordination of human rights protection; and prepare an report for recommendations related to the political demonstration.
            The NHRCT has insisted on the impartiality in carrying out duties by listening to opinions and facts of all stakeholders - protesters, affected people, public officers, related agencies, the civil society organizations and scholars. In addition, the NHRCT has also visited places to observe political rallies, and constantly monitored and followed up the situation.
