THE 34TH MEETING OF B.E. 2564 [2021] OF THE FOURTH NATIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION OF THAILAND AS REGARDS PROTECTION AND STANDARDS OF HUMAN RIGHTS PROTECTION

            On August 3, B.E. 2564 [2021], the National Human Rights Commission of Thailand (NHRCT) held its 34th meeting of B.E. 2564 [2021] as regards the protection and standards of human rights protection at the Office of the NHRCT and via Zoom with the following agendas.
                1. Consideration of four complaints as follows.
                     - Right to property in the claim that a person was affected by the issuance of a public land certificate (Nor Sor Lor.)
                     - Right to person’s integrity in the administration of justice in the claim that a person was assaulted during interrogation by government security officials and his genetic material (DNA) samples were collected several times without giving reasons and consent
                    - Right to the administration of justice in the claim of undue delay of legal inquiry by officers
                    - Community right in the claim that a business of latex purchase and rubber sheet production had impacts on environment and the community nearby
                2. Consideration of 10 complaints admissible for further investigation
                3. Consideration of five complaints admissible for further coordination with agencies concerned
                4. Agree to extend the due dates for investigation of six cases as requested by officers
                5. Appointment of a working group to investigate a case of complaint received
                6. Consideration of o case of complaint admissible for further suggestion of measures or guidelines for human rights promotion and protection, or for forwarding to another independent organization in accordance with its duties and powers
                7. Consideration of a report to be submitted to the cabinet in the case that the Treasury Department failed to comply with the suggestion of the NHRCT without justification (examination report on community rights pertaining to the right to information, news and petition in the case that community traders at Cholpratarn Market of Pak Kret District, were affected by royal property development)
