The NHRCT met and discussed with the Cross Cultural Foundation to expedite the enactment of the draft Act on Prevention and Suppression of Torture and Enforced Disappearances

          On 25 June 2021, Ms. Pornpen Kongkachonkiet, Director of the Cross Cultural Foundation, together with the victims of torture and enforced disappearances, their relatives and other members of human rights organizations met Assistant Professor Suchart Setthamalinee and Ms. Pitikan Sithidej, National Human Rights Commissioners, to discuss the draft Act on Prevention and Suppression of Torture and Enforced Disappearances. They asked the National Human Rights Commission of Thailand (NHRCT) to help expedite the enactment of the draft Act as soon as possible. They also asked the NHRCT to investigate their complaints very soon.
          The NHRCT has previously recommended the government to expedite the process of considering the draft Act.
