On 24 June 2021, at the Office of the National Human Rights Commission of Thailand, Assistant Professor Suchart Setthamalinee, National Human Rights Commissioner, received representatives from the Thai Muslim Student Association who submitted a complaint for investigation. The complaint is concerned with the prohibition of wearing hijab for female Muslim students while practicing nurse in hospital and community. Such prohibition regulated by a private university allegedly contradicts Islamic law and human rights principle.
