The case on Ratchaphakdi Park

According to the “shine to the cheat” activity on traveling by train to Ratchaphakdi Park to check the corruption on the construction of Ratchaphakdi Park on December 7, 2015. The group was detained to interrogate and they were released on the same day as it appears in the news.

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC.) has closely monitored this case with concern on the basis of neutrality, independent and protection of the human rights of all the parties without discrimination. NHRC urged all parties to resolve the problem based on nonviolent ways and respecting each other. NHRC strongly urged all sectors to take into consideration and treatment of such case as follows:

1. The Government should reiterate the officers involved in the control of the situation by the constitutional and legal principles as well as the International Covenant and the tolerance principles, on the basis of mutual respect.

2. The exercise of the rights and freedom of expression of individuals, deserved show by prudence and in good faith, with regard to the public interest is essential.

The NHRC will closely and continuously monitor the situation and urge to all the parties to be patience, not extend to violence and create hatred during the transition of the national reform. To lead to the forefront reconciliation and bring calm and peace returned to Thailand the soonest,
