Condemning the Violence in the Southernmost Provinces of Thailand
Offending Human Rights Threateningly
by Brutal, Cruel and Inhumane Means to the Innocents

In response to the consecutive insurgency in the Southernmost Province of Thailand, the National Human Rights Commission of Thailand once expressed our sentiments and distress to all unrests. The Commission has been doing the fieldworks to examine, to follow up and to promulgate statements to condemn the violence. Until on 25 July 2014, a bombing occured in Betong, Yala, caused 3 innocents dead, 40 people injured and property decimated, as reported in the news.

Regards of Betong is one of the most peaceful cities in Yala, resided people are generous and understanding among all races and religions and share the suffering and happiness without discriminations. This made Betong the cultural city claimed as the city of peace and conformity for long time.

As the serious violence and insurgency occurred in the Southernmost Provinces of Thailand presently, the National Human Rights Commission of Thailand gratefully condolences to dead persons, injured and family members who affected by the insurgency. Besides death, injured and property detriments, the insurgency affected to mind and daily living of victims and family members. The Commission condemns such violence violated seriously to human rights by the brutal, cruel and inhumane offends. It is illegal and against the beliefs, human rights and humanity principals without concerned about innocent targets. The offenders did not realize to the effect of the violence and broke the universal human rights principals which should be respected by all parties.

The National Human Rights Commission of Thailand supports the state officers to make an effort to re-establish the peaceful measures, to make people perceive the sense of security in life, body, daily work and peacefulness of living, to corporate with people to monitor, to finger the criminals and to prevent violence insurgency in order to commit the confident of the people. Moreover, the state officers need to help the affected people by to aid and to treat especially by rehabilitating mind and trauma of the people and to hasten the law enforcement by investigating to bring the offenders to the penalized process for thei perpetration that were against the law and violated human rights threateningly.

The National Human Rights Commission of Thailand encourages all parties to accompany to monitor for the safety of life, body and daily living in order to safeguard, to prevent and to look after against the insurgency and suggests all parties to corporate with state officers to re-establish peace and safety measures for all people without the segregation of races or religions in order to retrieve the peaceful living society as the wish of all Thais.
